DIAH ‘O’ METER: 4.3/7
I really enjoyed reading this book. It tells a story of racism and there was something in the way it was written that really touches your heart. I did a little background research on the author and I could see some relevance between her and the main character. The mystery as to how and why Lydia died laid so much within her family background. I felt an immense amount of sympathy for Lydia throughout the novel. What normally intrigues me in the book is what the mystery has to unravel, but this time I felt such a connection with the story that the mystery itself almost didn’t matter.
